Ryan Evans talks about the experience of playing in The Open for the first time.
“I gained some momentum today. For the first time all week I saw some putts from six feet go in. My ball striking’s there. I struck the ball good so it’s good the PGA Championship is approaching fast. I just have to fine-tune a couple of things we I get home and that’s it.
Jordan Spieth looks ahead to the US PGA Championship after closing with a 68 to shoot his first under par score in a Major Championship since the first round of this year’s Masters.

Spieth gives his thoughts on Royal Troon.
“I always had the belief inside me that I would get over the health issues and be back at an Open Championship, but to do it in a year is much more than I expected. I’m just chuffed it has come so quick. It’s a big one for me.”
Matt Southgate gauges his progress almost a year to the day after having surgery for testicular cancer.
“Final Qualifying is tough but it can lead to something very special. That’s why people enter it. Hopefully, some people will look at what I’ve done and give it a go. That would be great to see. All the best to everyone who tries to qualify next year. I think I’ve proved it’s worthwhile.”
Southgate came through Final Qualifying to claim a place just outside the top-ten at Royal Troon.
“I’m happy with everything. I’m happy where my game’s at. I feel like it’s definitely heading in the right direction. Bar the missed cut at the US Open, my results have been decent the last few times I’ve played and it’s going to be a top-five here so there’s not much wrong. I want to win but I think you guys are more desperate for it to happen than I am.”
Rory McIlroy puts his recent form in perspective for the sake of a concerned press corp.
“The Claret Jug’s a pretty awesome thing. I’d love to get my hands on it again, but I’m sure Henrik will let me drink out of it again if I need to.”
2015 Champion Golfer of the Year Zach Johnson on parting ways with an old friend.

Johnson on the most vivid memories he will take home from this week.
“I played some good stuff and some really poor stuff. I’m disappointed with that but, in the big scheme of thing, you know, I’m getting better at playing The Open. We come back next year and see if we can improve.”
