Stewart Cink is one of several players making short shrift of the windy weather during the early stages of the final round of the 140^th Open Championship at Royal St George’s.

The American, who won The Open at Turnberry in 2009, beating the legendary Tom Watson in a play-off, is one under par for the first 11 holes of his final round and has moved up nine places into a tie for 39^th.

Justin Rose is another player who has blossomed over the final 18 holes. He is also one under the card coming to the 18^th but is still well down the field in a tie for 53^rd place.

At mid-day there are 6 players registering at one under par for the day: Rose (through 17), Simon Khan (13), Ryan Moore (12) Cink (11),Kyle Stanley (8), Gary Woodland (6), and Sergio Garcia (2).
