Aside from getting the opportunity to watch the world’s top golfers, you can also keep yourself entertained with the many activities and shops available on the course, many of which are situated in the Tented Village (found in between the 3rd, 17th and 18th holes).
The HSBC Golf Zone
The HSBC Golf Zone features a number of golfing simulators and are offering a Mizuno MP-T106 putter to the winner of the putting challenge and a Mizuno JPX-EZ Driver 10.5R for the winner of longest drive. Not only that, HSBC Premier customers can visit the Premier Lounge and enjoy complimentary refreshments and snacks whilst watching the golf live on TV.
The R&A Swingzone
If you’d like to increase your chances of winning a Mizuno driver from the HSBC Golf Zone, why not visit The R&A Swingzone? PGA Professionals will be offering free golf lessons all week.
MasterCard cardholders can access the Club and Studio for free, where you could meet Ian Poulter, Graeme McDowell, Tom Watson and other ambassadors. Also, spending over £25 in The Open Shop with your MasterCard entitles you to a special edition golf ball with the possibility of receiving a ‘Golden Ball’, which will provide another Priceless Surprise.
The Open Shop
Ralph Lauren, the Official Outfitter of The Open Championship will feature the exclusively designed and produced Open Collection for men, women and children, presenting their RLX Golf, Polo Golf and Ralph Lauren Golf ranges. Rolex, the Official Timekeeper of The Open, will also be showcasing some of their products to spectators.
The Official Car of The Open, Mercedes-Benz, will be providing courtesy cars to competitors and will have a showroom within the Tented Village,displaying some of their latest vehicles.
Nikon will be helping spectators get closer to the action by offering binocular hire from its showroom. Or, if you like, you can purchase binoculars, including their latest Nikon laser rangefinders for golfers looking to lower their score.
Doosan provide the pre-event on-field construction equipment for The Open and are located within the Tented Village where you can find out more about the Doosan Brand. They will also be offering their own golf and excavator simulators and a life-like photo zone.
The NTT DATA Wall will be bringing the numbers behind the game to life in a way never seen before on a golf course. A variety of stats will be on display, including longest drives, scorecards and overall leaderboards.
Sodexo Prestige are the official caterer to The Open Championship and will be supporting small growers, farmers and smaller artisan suppliers. Sustainability is important to both The R&A and Sodexo and their chefs will be creating innovative dishes throughout the week.
Scotland’s favourite single malt Scotch whisky will be on offer in the Glenmorangie Open Bar where their in-house whisky expert will be on hand to answer any questions. Visitors can also find a golf simulator where Glenmorangie prizes will be on offer.
