The 149th Open at Royal St George's

The 149th Open is part of the Government’s Event’s Research Programme (ERP), and as such a requirement for all attendees aged 11 or over is to have either:

a) proof of a double vaccination, or

b) proof of a negative Lateral Flow Test (LFT).

This page provides detail about how to obtain this proof.

PRoof of vaccination

Ticket holders registered with a GP in England can display proof of full vaccination (second dose administered at least 14 days before) via the NHS App Covid Pass, or via a printed PDF.

Smartphone users can download the NHS App here. Instructions on how to display your vaccination status can be found here.

If you live in Scotland, you can obtain your full vaccination status here.

If you live in Wales, you can obtain your full vaccination status by following the instructions here.

Ticket holders from Northern Ireland or from outside the UK will not be able to provide proof of vaccination and must show a negative lateral flow test result instead.

Please note: Vaccination cards given to the individuals on completion of their second vaccine dose will not be accepted as proof of full vaccination.

Proof of a Negative Lateral Flow Test (LFT)

The lateral flow test needs to be taken within 48 hours of the time the gates open on the day(s) of your attendance.

If you live in the United Kingdom, you can order your lateral flow tests for free here. Please follow the instructions used in your lateral flow kit to record the results with the NHS.

Negative lateral flow test results can be shown via the NHS App Covid Pass (only for individuals registered with a GP in England), or by showing a confirmation email or text message from NHS Test and Trace.

International attendees will be required to produce a negative Lateral Flow Test in order to gain entry to The Open.

Lateral Flow Tests can be ordered to the address where you are staying via this link, or they can be picked from a local chemist (find your nearest pick up point here).Test results can then be uploaded to the NHS Self Report Tool, which will provide you with a confirmation email and text message which can be shown at the entry gates. Our guide for international fans using the NHS Self Report Tool can be found here.

By downloading the NHS App onto your smartphone, you can use the NHS COVID Pass to show your vaccination or Lateral Flow Test status to the guest service staff as you enter The Open. Or, download and show an offline version or print a copy of your status and show the printed version instead.

If you don’t have access to a computer or smartphone, then you can order a copy of the NHS COVID Pass letter if you have been vaccinated by telephoning 119 but please note that the letter can take up to 5 working days to reach you.
