Brendan Lawlor is a two-time winner of The G4D Open and in 2020 made history by becoming the first golfer with a disability to compete on the DP World Tour.

The Irishman, who turned professional in 2019, won the inaugural G4D Open at Woburn in 2023, finishing two shots clear of Englishman Kipp Popert.

He then reclaimed the title in 2025 with an outstanding performance at the same venue, winning by four shots.

In August 2020 he played in the ISPS HANDA UK Championship on the DP World Tour and topped the World Ranking for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD) for the first time the following year.

Lawlor has a rare condition called Ellis–van Creveld syndrome, characterised by a shorter stature and shorter limbs.

He will be among the players competing in Heroes Classic during The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale.
