As a member of the PGA Tour, Harry Hall has played in the US Open and PGA Championship, where he tied for 19th at Quail Hollow in May.
He is now set to make his first appearance in The Open after back-to-back 67s gave him joint-second spot at Final Qualifying at Burnham & Berrow.
The former Cornish amateur champion – who wears a flat cap in the manner of his grandfather and the county’s 1925 Champion Golfer Jim Barnes – attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas from 2015 to 2019 and in the last of those years represented GB&I in the Walker Cup at Hoylake.
He won twice on the Korn Ferry Tour after turning professional and he certainly made his presence felt in the paid ranks, breaking through at last season’s ISCO Championship.
Five players tied on 22-under-par only for Hall to birdie the third extra hole to hand him the title. Four more top-10 finishes have followed this year.
