Introducing adidas: The Open announces latest licensee partnership
Adidas The Open Shop

The original sports brand is partnering with golf’s original major.

We are delighted to announce that adidas Golf has entered into a multi-year agreement with The R&A, making the brand an Official Licensee to The Open through 2022.

The Open is proud to announce its first-ever partnership with adidas Golf, bringing the brand’s high-performance clothing to The Open Shop and continuing our commitment to providing the best range of apparel possible to golfers and fans alike.

Jenny Brown, Head of Retail, Merchandise and Licensing at The R&A, said: “We are delighted as the world’s original major to be working with adidas. Adidas is not only the original sports brand, but they are devoted to overall initiatives like sustainability, inclusivity and changing lives through sport. All of these focus areas align with The R&A’s purpose to ensure that golf is more accessible, appealing and inclusive both now and in the future. We hope that our new collections with adidas provide quality apparel, which fans all over the world can enjoy wearing all year round, both on and off the course.”

Since entering the world of golf in the 1980s, adidas has established itself as one of the most recognised brands in the game, and currently sponsors some of the world’s best golfers, including Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele, Jon Rahm, Danielle Kang, Collin Morikawa, Tyrrell Hatton and Sergio García.

Andrew Law, Managing Director at adidas Golf EMEA, said: “We are honoured to partner The Open in this venture. The Open and adidas Golf share similar values and are of course passionate about the sport of golf. We look forward to growing our partnership.”

In 2017, the brand established adidas Golf, drawing on its decades of experience to develop and pioneer some of the game’s most advanced performance apparel and footwear.

From moisture-wicking polo shirts to smart, comfortable sweaters and mid-layers, the brand brings modern but no less smart style, both on and off the course.

Our range, which will grow over the coming months, offers a selection of polo shirts, sweaters and zip-layers for men, women and children.
