The Open Qualifying Series Korea

Seungsu Han and Kyungnam Kang will play in The 151st Open at Royal Liverpool after finishing as the top two in the KOLON Korea Open.

The latest event in The Open Qualifying Series was won emphatically by Han, who closed with a level-par 71 at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club to claim a six-shot victory at six-under-par, having led throughout the week following a superb 66 on day one.

Born in Korea, Han moved to the United States when he was 13 and plays under the flag of his adopted country.

The best season of his career to date came in 2017, when he won the Casio World Open, finished fifth on the Japan Golf Tour Order of Merit and climbed into the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking.

Han’s only previous major appearance came at the following year’s PGA Championship, but he can now look forward to an Open debut at Hoylake.

Playing alongside defending champion Minkyu Kim, Kang matched Han’s 71 on the final day to secure the second qualifying place on level-par.
