The Open Qualifying Series South Africa

The South African Open hosted by The City of Johannesburg  returns for it's second year in its current guise after merging with The Joburg Open in 2018. Played at Randpark, Johannesburg from 9-12 January 2020, it is the second event in The Open Qualifying Series for The 149th Open.

Three qualifying places are up for grabs in the tri sanctioned event by the Sunshine Tour, the European Tour and Asian Tour. The names engraved on the famous South African Open trophy include Vijay Singh, Ernie Els, Trevor Immelman, Retief Goosen and Henrik Stenson.

In 2019 Champion Golfer Louis Oosthuizen won the tournament but the 3 spots for Royal Portrush were taken by Romain Langasque, Charl Schwartzel and Oliver Wilson. The event is once again sure to provide drama and give players who are not already exempt the chance of playing in The 149th Open at Royal St George's in 2020.

The Open Qualifying Series South Africa returns to Randpark with a new date in January 2020.
