Rickie Fowler visited Carnoustie on Tuesday 10 July ahead of The 147th Open which begins next week.

Fowler, who finished second to Patrick Reed at the Masters in April, took time to speak, exclusively, to TheOpen.com during his day at Carnoustie.

The American is playing the Scottish Open at Gullane this week but made time for a trip to the famous Angus links beforehand.

His latest Instagram post reveals his preparations for The Open with the help of a golf simulator before seeing the Championship course in all its glory on Tuesday.

His previous best finish at golf’s original Championship is tied second at Hoylake in 2014.
