When she arrived at Royal Portrush as club secretary in 1984, Wilma Erskine took over a club that was “in the doldrums.”
Green fees were down, the course was in poor condition and when they bought a second-hand tractor they had to do so on hire purchase.
But fast forward 35 years and the Antrim course boasts a £5m turnover and is set to host The 148th Open. It’s been quite the ride, as Wilma explains.
