Both players carded four-under-par rounds of 66 on a day of warm weather in Southport.

Alex Smalley had led the way on five-under, but a wayward tee shot on the 18th led to a double-bogey. He joins a clutch of players, including 2025 Champion Golfer Scottie Scheffler, and Bryson DeChambeau on three-under.
