The 153rd Open Ticket Ballot Competition

Prize Draw Terms and Conditions
 
  1. The promoter of The 153rd Open Ticket Ballot  prize draw (the “Prize Draw”) in accordance with these prize draw terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) is R&A Championships Limited, a company incorporated in Scotland under company number SC247047 and having its registered office at Beach House, Golf Place, St Andrews, Fife KY16 9JA ("The R&A").
  2. The Prize Draw is open to anyone who registers interest in The 153rd Open Ticket Ballot and is a One Club member or signs up to become a member of the One Club before 30 June 2024, and are residents of Great Britain, United States of America (excluding the state of Rhode Island) and Republic of Ireland aged eighteen (18) years or over, except employees of The R&A, their families, agents or any third party directly associated with administration of the Prize Draw (an “Eligible Person”). 
  3. Each Eligible Person who wishes to enter the Prize Draw must complete and submit a register interest form available at: www.theopen.com/ticket-ballot (“Register Interest Form”).
  4. There is a limit of one (1) entry to the Prize Draw per person. Eligible Persons who have completed and submitted the Register Interest form and tick the checkbox to opt-in to the Prize Draw between 00.01am (BST) on Wednesday 5 June 2024 and 11.59pm (BST) on Sunday 30 June 2024 (“Closing Date”) will be automatically entered into the Prize Draw (an "Entry").
  5. The R&A accepts no responsibility for any Entry attempts which are not completed for any reason, including technical interruption, fault or site failure. Incomplete Register Interest Forms will not be considered a valid Entry into the Prize Draw.
  6. One (1) winner will be chosen by random draw supervised by an independent person (“Winner”) on Thursday 1 August 2024 ("Draw Date").
  7. The following prize will be drawn on the Draw Date: 
    •   One (x1) pair of general admission tickets to The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July 2025
    •   Hotel accommodation at the Holiday Inn Belfast from Friday 18 – Monday 21 July 2025
    •   One (x1) round of golf at Royal Portrush on Monday 21 July 2025
    •   Two (x2) weekend passes to the Titanic Belfast Experience
    •   One (x1) flight voucher worth £500.00
    •   Two (x2) Belfast Public Transport passes
  8. The Winner will be notified by email (using the contact details provided when the Entry was made) on or within seven (7) days of the Draw Date. If the Winner does not respond to The R&A within fourteen (14) days of being notified by The R&A, then their prize will be forfeited and The R&A will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
  9. The prize for the Winner is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
  10. The decision of The R&A regarding any aspect of the Prize Draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  11. By completing and submitting the Entry, each Eligible Person agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. The R&A reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
  12. The R&A reserves the right to replace any prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond The R&A's control makes it necessary to do so.
  13. The R&A reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the Prize Draw where it becomes necessary to do so. The R&A reserves the right to withdraw any part of the prize if it has reason to believe that the Winner has breached these Terms and Conditions..
  14. The R&A makes no representation or warranty regarding the quality of the competition prize and any conditions, warranties, or other terms implied by statute or common law are hereby excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  15. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit the liability of The R&A, its group companies, its agents or distributors for: (i) death or personal injury, (ii) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or (iii) to the extent such limitation or exclusion is not permitted by law regarding the administration of the Prize Draw. Insofar as is permitted by law, The R&A, its group companies, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the Winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by a breach of statutory duty of The R&A, its group companies, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. The statutory rights of all Eligible Persons are not affected.
  16. The Prize Draw is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram or any other social media platform (the “Social Media Platforms”) through which The R&A advertises the Prize Draw. All Entrants shall release the Social Media Platforms from all claims and liabilities arising in respect of the Prize Draw.
  17. The R&A will use the personal information that is provided to it by Eligible Persons when they are making an Entry to administer the competition, including to contact Eligible Persons if they have won the Prize Draw and to provide the prize. The legal basis for processing personal information in this way is that it is necessary for the legitimate interests of The R&A to provide benefits to its customers, to build and strengthen its customer relationships, to promote its products and to comply with best practices for running prize competitions.   18. The R&A may make available the surname and/or county of the Winner to members of the public or regulators who request such details within three (3) months after the Draw Date.
  19. This Prize Draw and these Terms and Conditions will be governed by the laws of Scotland and any and all questions or disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish Courts.
