Andrew Wilson punched his ticket for The 148th Open at Royal Portrush, his only previous Open appearance, after coming through qualifying at Hollinwell.
The Englishman went on to make the cut in County Antrim before finishing T32.
Wilson turned professional in 2018 and claimed his first win in the paid ranks the following year at the PGA EuroPro Tour’s Motocaddy Masters by a solitary stroke.
So far in 2026, Wilson has recorded two top-three finishes, at the Motocaddy Masters and then the Ashburnham.
Wilson missed out on a potential place at The 154th Open by one shot after he finished T6 at Final Qualifying at Dundonald Links but will have another chance to return to golf's original championship through the Last-Chance Qualifier.
