Jayden Schaper will follow debuts at the PGA Championship and US Open this year with his first Open appearance at Royal Birkdale.
This comes after he landed his first two professional wins within one week of another at events both co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the Sunshine Tour. These successes came in December 2025 at the Alfred Dunhill Championship and the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.
Remarkably, both were sealed by Schaper managing to eagle a play-off hole, the former against Shaun Norris on the first extra hole and the latter over Ryan Gerard at the second extra hole.
The South African enjoyed a strong amateur career during which he won the Junior Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in 2019.
Upon turning professional in 2020, Schaper went on to be crowned the Sunshine Tour Rookie of the Year in both 2020/21 and 2021/22.
