John Gough

John Gough narrowly missed out on a place at The 154th Open at Final Qualifying, and will now aim to earn a spot in the Championship via the inaugural Last-Chance Qualifier.

One week before his Final Qualifying attempt at Royal Cinque Ports, the 27-year-old won his maiden title in Europe. Four sub-70 rounds, including a 63 in the first, took him to a two-shot win at the Blot Play9 in France on the HotelPlanner Tour in late June.

Gough has three professional wins in total to his name, with the other two coming on the Clutch Pro Tour in May and June 2024.

As an amateur, he won the 2021 English Amateur at Moortown Golf Club before winning the Irish Amateur two years later.
