Julien Guerrier

Julien Guerrier's only previous Open appearance was in 2006, a month after he became Amateur champion at Royal St George's.

He also played in the following year’s Masters because of that, and is now back having won the joint longest play-off in DP World Tour history, finally overcoming Jorge Campillo at the ninth extra hole of the Andalucia Masters in October.

Guerrier set a record at the 2010 Tour qualifying school with a round of 60, but it was on his 230th start on the circuit that he tasted success at Sotogrande. He earned a joint fourth place at the European Open four months earlier, and went on to finish 23rd on the Race to Dubai rankings to earn his spot at Royal Portrush.

It was also at the European Open that he was runner-up to Tom McKibbin in 2023 and his career includes two victories on the Alps Tour, two on the French Tour and in 2017 two more on the Challenge Tour.

As an amateur he represented France in the Eisenhower Trophy world team championship in 2024 and 2006 and Continental Europe against Britain and Ireland in the 2006 St Andrews Trophy.
