Kathryn Newton

Hollywood actress Kathryn Newton will compete in the Heroes Classic at Royal Birkdale this summer, three years after she teed it up at The Open Invitational.

Newton, a keen golfer since her childhood, is passionate about inspiring new audiences to get involved the sport and in 2023 took up a role as Global Development Ambassador with The R&A.

She has starred in major film releases such as Ant-Man, Paranormal Activity, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and is well-known for roles in Big Little Lies and The Society. Newton returns to screens in 2026 comedy horror Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.

Raised in Florida, Newton reportedly almost went down the path of becoming a professional golfer having been the standout player in her high school team.

She was among the star names to compete in The Open Invitational ahead of The 151st Open at Royal St George's in 2023.
