Pierceson Coody, the grandson of 1971 Masters winner Charles Coody, will experience his first taste of major links golf when he tees off at Royal Birkdale.
The American enjoyed a successful amateur career during which he won the 2018 Byron Nelson Junior Championship, the 2021 George Hannon Collegiate Invitational and the 2022 Augusta Haskins Award Invitational.
He attended the University of Texas between 2018 and 2022 and helped the Texas Longhorns men’s team win the 2022 NCAA Division I men’s Golf Championship.
After turning professional in 2022, Coody has since gone on to win three times on the Korn Ferry Tour - at the 2022 Live and Work in Maine Open, the 2023 Panama Championship and the Price Cutter Charity Championship.
Coody’s best major finish was T23 at this year’s US Open.
