Preston Stout was awarded the Mark H McCormack Medal as the leading male in the 2026 World Amateur Golf Ranking® (WAGR®).

This brought with it an exemption The 155th Open at St Andrews in July.

The Texan made his major debut at the 2026 US Open at Shinnecock Hills, having qualified after claiming the NCAA Division I individual title.

He was part of the victorious USA Walker Cup team at Cypress Point in 2025, winning both of his singles matches, and competed at Lahinch 12 months later where Great Britain & Ireland won the trophy.

Stout also represented his country at the Palmer Cup in 2025 and the World Amateur Team Championship in Singapore.
