Sam Stevens

Sam Stevens will make his Open debut during what has been a strong 2026 for the American.

He heads across the Atlantic buoyed by a T7 finish at this year’s US Open, the first top-10 major result of his eight-year professional career.

This will be the first year in which Stevens has featured at all four majors, and at Royal Birkdale the Fort Worth native will be keen to extend his run of having made the cut in each of his previous eight major appearances.

Stevens attended Oklahoma State University from 2014 to 2018, winning the 2018 NCAA title alongside Oklahoma State Cowboys golf teammates Viktor Hovland and Matthew Wolff.

He has one professional win to his name – at the Holcim Colombia Classic in 2021 – while his grandfather Johnny and father Charlie were both professional golfers. The former made 30 PGA Tour starts during the 1960s while the latter made two starts on the Korn Ferry Tour in 1992.
