Played his first major championship at last season’s Masters, finishing joint 39th, a month after his maiden PGA Tour success at the Valspar Championship.

Followed up with his Open Championship debut at Royal Liverpool thanks to his place amongst the world’s top 50 at the end of May and features again now after making it through to the end-of-season Tour Championship last August.

Early in 2021, Moore was not even in the leading 700, but he then became one of the stars of the Korn Ferry Tour, finishing their season in fourth place and earning promotion to the main circuit.

His victory at the Valspar came four years after his decision to seek urgent medical attention led to the discovery that his right lung was 50 per cent collapsed.

He had been heading to an airport at the time, but felt his health came first and said after his win: “I think if I would have taken a left (to the airport rather than right to the care facility) I might not be here.”

The former University of Arkansas student tied for the lowest stroke play score in the qualifying stages of the 2014 US Amateur.
