Mizuno Open

Shaun Norris (above), Ryutaro Nagano and Ren Yonezawa qualified for The 154th Open at Royal Birkdale as the top three finishers in the Mizuno Open.

Norris, a regular feature at golf's original championship with six appearances in recent years, produced a dominant display at JFE Setonaikai Golf Club in Okayama to win by five shots.

One clear at the start of the final round, the South African showed no sign of nerves as he completed a bogey-free 65 and posted a tournament-record winning total of 24-under.

While Norris can look forward to his seventh Open, Nagano will make his second appearance - five years on from his debut at Royal St George's - after a final-day 66 secured a share of second place.

There was also joy for Yonezawa, who missed out on qualifying by a single stroke at last year's Mizuno Open. On this occasion, the three-time winner on the Japan Golf Tour matched Nagano's 19-under aggregate to secure a major debut at Birkdale.
