The Open Qualifying Series Korea
Three years on from his memorable Championship debut at St Andrews, Sadom Kaewkanjana will return to The Open this summer after qualifying through victory at the KOLON Korea Open.
The 26-year-old from Thailand finished two shots clear of Poom Saksansin to seal his first win since 2022, ensuring his place at Royal Portrush in the process.
The Asian Tour event, which took place at the Dunes Course at La Vie Est Belle in Chuncheon, forms part of the Open Qualifying Series.
Sadom went into the final day trailing Saksansin by one shot but a 1-under-par final round of 70, which included four birdies, was enough to secure the victory.
He will now return for a second appearance at golf’s original Championship, three years after an outstanding final round of 65 on the Old Course helped him finish T11 at The 150th Open.
The KOLON Korea Open is the sixth event on the Open Qualifying Series, which continues with both The Mizuno Open in Japan and The Memorial Tournament presented by Workday on the PGA Tour next week.
