KLM Open

Guido Migliozzi and Joe Dean qualified for The 152nd Open in dramatic fashion following a three-man sudden-death play-off at the KLM Open, part of The Open Qualifying Series.

Migliozzi, Dean and Marcus Kinhult finished the final round at The International in Amsterdam tied on 11-under-par, before all three began the play-off with birdies at the par-5 18th.

It was Italy’s Migliozzi (below) who ultimately emerged victorious, birdieing the second extra hole to claim the title and a place at Royal Troon. He will feature in The Open for the fourth year in succession.

For Dean (below) there was the significant consolation of earning his first start in a major. The Englishman took the second qualifying berth courtesy of his superior position in the Official World Golf Ranking compared to Kinhult.
