WHAT'S ON

The Heroes Classic, a new showcase event at The 154th Open, will see some of the biggest names compete alongside a host of special guests at Royal Birkdale.

Jordan Spieth and Padraig Harrington, both Champion Golfers at Royal Birkdale, will join AIG Women's Open Champion Miyu Yamashita, G4D Open Champion Brendan Lawlor and European Ryder Cup stars Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood.

High profile figures from sports and entertainment, and R&A ambassadors, including Bryan Habana will also tee it up at the Heroes Classic.

Last-Chance Qualifier, a dramatic 12 player showdown for the final place in The 154th Open, will take place over 18 holes at Royal Birkdale on Monday, 13 July.

Golfers will be invited to compete in the field based on eligibility criteria consistent with the existing qualification process for The Open.
