Join the Open Host Team

Be part of something special this summer.

The 154th Open will take place at Royal Birkdale from 12 to 19 July 2026, and we are looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to join the Open Host Team.

As an Open Host, you will help welcome thousands of visitors to Southport, providing directions, sharing local knowledge and creating a positive, memorable experience for everyone attending the Championship.

About the roles

What you will do

• Welcome visitors and spectators.

• Help people find their way around key locations.

• Share useful information about the event and local area.

• Support smooth movement at transport hubs and entry points.

• Be a friendly, visible and reassuring presence.

• Volunteer roles will be based at off-course locations including transport hubs, Park & Ride sites, walking routes and course access points.

What we are looking for

• Aged 18 or over.

• Friendly, approachable and confident speaking to people.

• Available to volunteer between 12–19 July 2026.

• Able to travel to your assigned location.

• Willing to complete pre-event training.

• Shifts are up to 6 hours.
