Upon Arrival

Please have your digital pass ready for scanning upon entry to the Park & Ride. Vehicles cannot be left overnight in the car park. A free-of-charge drop-off and pick-up area is provided at each Park & Ride car park for those who wish to drop off and collect friends and family. There is no charge for the use of the dedicated bus service to and from the course.

Course & Ticket Plus Access

The bus service will drop you off at the drop of area closest to Gate 2, which is the gate nearest Ticket Plus. The shuttle ride is approximately 10 minutes. The walk to Gate 2 from this drop off is estimated 600m. Please note that the route includes two stepped footbridges.

All digital tickets will be scanned at the gate. Once inside the venue, look out for the yellow finger posts to find your Ticket Plus entrance, where you will be asked to scan your digital ticket a second time. Following scanning, you will be directed to the reception for check-in to collect a wristband that will provide you with access to Ticket Plus throughout the day. Your wristband will also contain your £25 voucher.

Taxi & Private Hire Drop Off/Pick Up

A dedicated taxi drop off and pick up area for taxi and private hire cars is located adjacent to the Park & Ride Drop Off on Ballywillan Road. All taxis and private hire cars will have access to this area.

Train

Portrush Train Station is located approximately 1km from the main spectator entrance to The 153rd Open. Please note that there will not be a shuttle service in operation from Portrush Train Station to the venue but an accessible shuttle for Blue Badge holders or international equivalent will be available from the station.

Transportation

Tens of thousands of spectators are expected to attend throughout the week. To minimise road traffic congestion and reduce the Championship’s carbon footprint, The R&A is recommending that spectators consider the use of public transport, which will be significantly enhanced for travel convenience, or car share with others in their group. Those staying in the local area should consider active travel (walking, wheeling or cycling).

To assist with traffic management and reduce congestion in the vicinity of Portrush, temporary traffic regulations and parking restrictions will be introduced. These will be enforced by the Police Service of Northern Ireland in order to minimise disruption to local residents and businesses, assist traffic flow and increase safety and security for all road users.
