QUALIFICATION
There are a number of different qualification pathways into The 155th Open at St Andrews.
The panels below provide further information on exemption categories, which are reviewed each year to ensure that avenues are available for golfers around the world, along with the events that make up the Open Qualifying Series.
Final Qualifying will also take place in summer 2027, while the Last-Chance Qualifier will be held in the week of the Championship.
Our live qualification tracker will be updated throughout the year as players gain exemptions and earn their place at The 155th Open.
Regional and Final Qualifying
Regional and Final Qualifying events will take place ahead of The 155th Open.
Regional Qualifying will be held at venues across Great Britain and Ireland on 21 June. From here golfers will have the opportunity to progress to Final Qualifying.
Final Qualifying will see players compete at Gailes Links, Prince’s, Burnham & Berrow and West Lancashire on 29 June.
Last-Chance Qualifier
Last-Chance Qualifier will take place once again in 2027.
It will see players will compete at St Andrews, on Monday 12 July, for the final place in The 155th Open.
In its inaugural edition at Royal Birkdale, large crowds watched on as Joe Dean's two-under-par round of 68 was enough to clinch the one remaining place in The 154th Open.
