THE OPEN QUALIFYING SERIES

The Open Qualifying Series (OQS) offers golfers around the world the chance to book their place at The 154th Open.

Each OQS event offers places to the highest-placed finishers who are not already exempt. The schedule for 2026, together with the number of qualifying places available at each event, is shown below.

OQS events are among a number of different ways players can qualify for The Open. Regional Qualifying and Final Qualifying events will take place in summer 2026, along with a new Last-Chance Qualifier event in the week of the Championship.

A series of exemptions have also been confirmed meaning some of the world's best players have already secured their place at Royal Birkdale.
