THE OPEN QUALIFYING SERIES

The Open Qualifying Series (OQS) offers golfers around the world the chance to book their place at The 155th Open.

Each OQS event offers places to the highest-placed finishers who are not already exempt. The schedule, together with the number of qualifying places available at each event, is shown below.

OQS events are among a number of different ways players can qualify for The Open. Regional Qualifying and Final Qualifying events will take place in summer 2027, along with the Last-Chance Qualifier event in the week of the Championship.

A series of exemptions have also been confirmed meaning some of the world's best players have already secured their place at St Andrews.

OQS France: FedEx Open de France (Angel Hidalgo qualified) - 27 September

OQS Spain: Open de España presented by Madrid (one place to the leading player, not already exempt, who makes the cut) - 11 October

OQS Japan: Japan Open Golf Championship (one place to the leading player, not already exempt, who makes the cut) - 18 October

OQS Hong Kong: LINK Hong Kong Open (one place to the leading player, not already exempt, who makes the cut) - 25 October

OQS Australia: Capital.com Australian Open (three places to the leading players, not already exempt, who make the cut) - 6 December

OQS New Zealand: The 106th New Zealand Open presented by Millbrook (one place to the leading player, not already exempt, who makes the cut) - 28 February
