The Open Qualifying Series Singapore

The SMBC Singapore Open at the Serapong Course will once again play host to the Open Qualifying Series Singapore. It provides the first chance in the new year for competitors to claim a place at Royal St George's.

Four places for The 149th Open are up for grabs with last years winner Jazz Janewattananond set to return to try and qualify for The Open via Singapore for the third year running.

The 2020 tournament saw three exempt players finish in the top 3. Matt Kuchar won the event at his first time of asking, with Justin Rose and Jazz Janewattananond finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively. That meant that it was a race for the 4 qualifying spots behind them, with Joohyung Kim, Richard T. Lee, Poom Saksansin and Ryosuke Kinoshita grabbing their chance and booking their places at Royal St George's in the summer.

Since the first Singapore Open in 1961 a host of big names have tasted victory including Adam Scott, Angel Cabrera and Ian Poulter with Garcia taking home the trophy in 2018. In 2019 Jazz Janewattananond, Yoshinori Fujimoto, Prom Meesawat and Doyeob Mun qualified for The Open at Royal Portrush.
