Casey Jarvis recorded his first top-10 in a major by finishing T6 on debut at The 154th Open.

The South African made a low-key start at Royal Birkdale, posting a three-over-par first round.

But three subsequent rounds in the 60s – including a final-round 66 – catapulted him up the leaderboard where he finished just four strokes behind Champion Golfer Ryan Fox.

Jarvis won the Investec South African Open Championship, which sealed his place at Birkdale via the Open Qualifying Series, at the beginning of March 2026.

This came just one week after he won the Magical Kenya Open, his first triumph on the DP World Tour.

Jarvis joined the Sunshine Tour after turning professional as a teenager in August 2022, and he went on to win the Rookie of the Year award.

The following year he equalled the Tour's lowest round with a 59 at the 2023 Stella Artois Players Championship.
