Grant Forrest

Grant Forrest won the Open de España presented by Madrid to secure his third appearance at golf’s original championship.

The Scot made his Open debut at Muirfield in 2013 before also competing at Carnoustie in 2018. He will now end a nine-year absence from the Championship when he tees it up at St Andrews for The 155th Open in July.

His victory in Spain, his third on the DP World Tour, saw him finish one shot clear of Eugenio Chacarra and Victor Perez after a clutch birdie on the final hole at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid. One St Andrews place was on offer at the event as part of The Open Qualifying Series (OQS).

Forrest’s previous victories on the Tour came at the Hero Open in August 2021, and at the Nexo Championship in August 2025.

He was runner-up at the Amateur Championship in 2025, losing the final to Romain Langasque, and was part of the winning Great Britain & Ireland Walker Cup team that same year.
