Yusaku Hosono

Yusaku Hosono will make his Open debut at St Andrews.

He qualified for The 155th Open by winning The Japan Open Golf Championship – part of the Open Qualifying Series – in his homeland in October 2026.

The left-hander recorded rounds of 65, 64, 68 and 70 at Tarao Country Club to pip Yusuke Sakamoto to the title and seal a spot at the home of golf in 2027.

This victory also earned Hosano a place at the Masters in April, and what will be his major bow.
