The Open Qualifying Series France

Angel Hidalgo sealed his spot at St Andrews next year courtesy of a runner-up finish in the FedEx Open de France.

The DP World Tour event was the curtain-raiser on this season’s Open Qualifying Series, with all roads leading to The 155th Open, which is being staged at the home of golf in 2027.

Hidalgo finished behind only Matt Fitzpatrick (already exempt for next year’s Open) at Le Golf National and the Spaniard can now look forward to his third appearance in golf’s original championship, having previously teed it up in 2024 and 2025.
