FAQs: Before My Arrival at The Open

When and how will I receive my hospitality tickets?
Tickets will be distributed digitally and available for viewing in The Open Tickets App 4–6 weeks ahead of The Open. A webpage with detailed instructions on accessing and transferring your tickets via the app can be found here.
I have not received my digital ticket, what should I do?
Tickets will be distributed digitally and available for viewing in The Open Tickets App 4–6 weeks ahead of The Open. Please ensure that you create an account in The Open Tickets App with the email your tickets were transferred to. If you have created an account with a different email, please log out and create a new account with the correct email address. If you are still unable to view your tickets, please contact the Hospitality Team.
Where is the QR code on my ticket?
Please note that the scannable QR code will only appear on your ticket within 12 hours of your attendance at the Championship. If a QR code does not appear within this time frame, please contact a member of the Hospitality Team.
Do I need to inform you of any dietary requirements?
We can cater for all allergies and dietary requirements. If you have specific dietary requirements and have not yet completed our Requirements Form, please contact a member of the Hospitality Team.
Can I bring a rucksack/bag into the event?
Small bags/backpacks will be accepted into the event but may be subject to security searches. For a list of all prohibited items, please visit our Spectator Advice webpage here.

Any items left in the cloakroom are done so at your own risk, and The R&A will not take any financial responsibility for replacing them. Large or oversized luggage items are not permitted at The Open. We recommend leaving your luggage out of sight in your vehicle during your visit. The Open will provide a secure left luggage facility which can be used to store coats or small bags such as backpacks or carry-on sized luggage. The Left Luggage & Lost Property Facility is operated on a "first-come, first-served" basis and is located within the main Spectator Village. Please note that the Left Luggage facility will not accept cash, computers, or high-value items.

Public grandstands are situated around the golf course and Practice Ground. Please note that smoking and alcohol are not permitted on the grandstands.

FAQs: Getting to The Open

How do I get to The Open by alternative modes of transport?
Please see our Getting There webpage for more information, including details on getting to The Open by bus and by bicycle.
How do I know if I need a coach/minibus or car park pass?

A hospitality car parking pass is for vehicles measuring less than 5 metres in length and/or with a seat capacity up to 9 seats. If you plan to park at The Open in a larger vehicle such as minibus or coach, a custom parking pass will be required.

Please see below for vehicle categories:

  • Minibus: Vehicles with 10-21 seats, 5-7.99 metres in length
  • Coach: vehicles with 22 seats and above, exceeding 8 metres in length

Please contact the Hospitality Team as soon as possible to request a custom parking pass.

Is there a coach drop-off for Origins Premium Experiences?

Minibus and Coach Drop Off and Pick Up is available in the Yellow D Coach Pick Up/Drop off Area. If you intend to be dropped off by your coach or minibus for the day, a pass will be required. Your complimentary car parking passes can be swapped for a Yellow D Coach Pick Up/Drop off Area pass.

Please note that this pass will be printed, not digital.

If you have Ticket Plus booked with us, your drop off/pick up location for larger vehicles will be in Blue A. This area requires no pass for drop off and pick up.

For more information, see our Arriving at The Open page in your Information Pack.

Where will the driver park the coach?

As the Yellow D Coach Park is a drop-off and pick up zone only, once guests have been dropped off, drivers will be directed to an appropriate parking area by parking staff which they can enter with the printed pass for Yellow D. We would advise all guests based in the Origins Pavilion to use the Yellow D Coach Pick Up/Drop off Area if arriving in a larger vehicle.

If you have Ticket Plus booked with us, your parking location for larger vehicles will be in the Blue C Coach Park. This area requires a digital pass.
