QUOTE OF THE DAY: Keenan Davidse
"I'm not here to paint pictures. I'm here to write down numbers. I got a good number down today and I'm just going to take it day by day."
Keenan Davidse's rise to the summit of the Joburg Open leaderboard comes just days after spending 4 nights in hospital after taking unwell in Mauritius! The 28-year-old heads up the Gary Player Class of 2017 - the Sunshine Tour's development squad for previously disadvantaged professional golfers - and tied for 7th at last season's event. Can he better that feat and book his place at Carnoustie come Sunday evening?
ONE TO WATCH
A solid start from Alfie Plant saw the Silver Medal winner record a two-under-par 70 on the tougher Firehorn course at Randpark Golf Club. With his Royal Birkdale heroics still fresh, Plant will be eager to build on that opening score and make the cut for the second time since turning professional when he switches to the Bushwillow course on Friday.
