The Open Shop opens at The Home of Golf
The Open Shop opened to the public in St Andrews on Monday, 26 March 2018.
This is The Open’s first ever flagship store, which will be open all year round, overlooking the 18th green of the Old Course.
The shop will allow fans to purchase from new lines including the Heritage Collection: Since 1860, Venue Collection and the much anticipated 150th St Andrews Collection. We will also showcase products from our Official Outfitter Hugo Boss as well as leading brands including Lyle & Scott, Proquip, Garb, Ahead and Kate Lord.
The Open Shop is based in the premises of the original Tom Morris Shop, which will continue its long tradition as the oldest golf shop in the world, originally opened in 1866. The shop continues to feature some of the original pieces of furniture that belonged to four-time Champion Golfer, Tom Morris, including his locker and workbench.
Some of The Open’s most unique assets are also on display in the store, including a replica yellow scoreboard and on-course sign post to add to the truly unique retail experience we are offering our fans. The interior aims to inspire a new generation of golfers while honouring the traditions that underpin over 150 years of golf’s original championship and the legacy of one of its greatest Champions.
Revenues generated by The Open enable The R&A to support the development of golf around the world and the governing body is aiming to invest £200 million in growing the sport over the next ten years with The Open Shop contributing to this goal.
