Bjork made his Championship debut in his rookie season on the DP World Tour in 2017, finishing joint third at the HNA French Open to claim one of the places on offer as part of The Open Qualifying Series.

The following season, the Swede won the Volvo China Open with a closing 65 to move into the world’s top 100 for the first time. Since then he has added runner-up finishes at the 2018 Sky Sports British Masters and the 2021 DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

It lifted him to a career-high 12th on the Tour’s Race to Dubai and secured his place at St Andrews for what was his fourth Open appearance. He is back now off this season's money list, having finished joint second at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship in February.

Bjork first hit the headlines in 2012 when he listed himself in Trade in Sports, funding the launch of his professional career by pledging 10% of winnings to those who invested in him.

After four visits to the qualifying school he came seventh on the 2016 Challenge Tour Order of Merit, winning Le Vaudreuil Challenge to move up from 423rd in the world to 251st.

He was a highly-promising tennis player in his youth, being ranked among Sweden’s top 10 juniors before deciding that golf was his future.
