Royal Portrush has staged The Open on three occasions, most recently in July 2025. There Scottie Scheffler underlined his status top player in men’s golf with an emphatic victory at The 153rd Open. This triumph came six years after Shane Lowry's iconic victory on the County Antrim coast as The Open returned to Northern Ireland for the first time in 68 years, since Max Faulkner's win in 1951.
