A former world number one, multiple major winners and popular social media personalities will be among the 288 golfers competing at Final Qualifying for The 154th Open.
Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia and Wesley and George Bryan are just a few of the headline names who will tee it up Tuesday 30 June, aiming to earn a place at golf’s original championship when it returns to Royal Birkdale from 12 to 19 July.
Tee times are available to view for each of the four Final Qualifying venues – Dundonald Links, West Lancashire, Burnham & Berrow and Royal Cinque Ports – with all players having to complete 36 holes in their quest to progress. Five Open qualifying places will be available at each venue.
For the first time fans will be able to watch the action live, with the latter stages broadcast on The R&A’s YouTube channel. Live coverage will also be available on The Open Radio, while fans can keep tabs on all the big moments through The Open social media accounts and follow live updates and scoring right here on The Open website.
A day which produced an array of memorable moments in 2025, including Richard Teder’s remarkable hole-out in a play-off at West Lancashire, promises to deliver once more, with a host of big names scheduled to compete.
Dustin Johnson, the former world number one and two-time major champion, will be aiming to secure a 17th consecutive appearance at The Open when he tees off at Dundonald.
The 42-year-old, who spent 135 weeks at the top of the world rankings, claimed his first major title at the 2016 US Open before adding a second with a dominant five-stroke victory at the Masters in 2020.
Johnson finished joint runner-up to Darren Clarke at The Open in 2011 and has competed in every Championship since making his debut at Turnberry in 2009.
Robert Rock, who has made eight Open appearances and recorded a tied seventh-place finish at St Andrews in 2010, will also be part of the field on the Ayrshire coast. He is joined by Angel Hidalgo, who has secured his place at Dundonald in each of the past two years. The Spaniard made headlines in 2024 when he holed out for eagle to qualify.
Connor Graham also progressed through Dundonald last year and is among a strong amateur contingent that includes his 2025 Walker Cup teammate Niall Shiels Donegan, as well as Ryder Cowan, who shared low amateur honours with Jackson Koivun at the 2025 US Open.

West Lancashire provided one of the standout moments of Final Qualifying in 2025 when Richard Teder holed out from distance to win a play-off and become the first Estonian to reach The Open.
The remarkable shot sparked wild celebrations and secured a place in Final Qualifying folklore.
Teder returns this year, with Sergio Garcia among those joining him in pursuit of one of the five qualifying places on offer at the venue. The 2017 Masters champion, a former runner-up at The Open, is aiming to make his 27th appearance at the Championship this summer.
Danny Willett, who claimed the Masters title a year before Garcia, is another high-profile name set to tee it up on England’s Golf Coast. He has twice recorded top-10 finishes at The Open, at St Andrews in 2015 and Royal Portrush in 2019. Matthew Jordan and Shubhankar Sharma, who also boast top-10 Open finishes, are likewise in the field at West Lancashire.
Meanwhile, Wesley and George Bryan of the popular Bryan Bros YouTube channel are expected to draw significant attention. George advanced through Regional Qualifying at Hesketh, where his three-under-par 68 saw him finish joint top of the standings alongside Australian amateur Abel Eduard.

Marc Leishman, who came agonisingly close to lifting the Claret Jug in a play-off 11 years ago, is among those in the field at Burnham & Berrow. The Australian followed that near-miss with a tied sixth-place finish at Royal Birkdale two years later and made his 11th Open appearance in County Antrim last summer.
He is joined in Somerset by Sahith Theegala, a PGA TOUR winner who has played in 15 majors, including each of the last four Opens. The American’s best result at golf’s original championship came at St Andrews in 2022, where he finished tied 34th at The 150th Open.
Another player with a strong Open pedigree in the field is Chris Wood. The Englishman finished tied fifth as an amateur at Royal Birkdale in 2005, earning the Silver Medal, before going on to claim a joint third-place finish at Carnoustie two years later. He is aiming to return to The Open for the first time since 2019.
DP World Tour winners Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Justin Harding and Anirban Lahiri will also tee it up at Burnham & Berrow, alongside 2024 Amateur Champion Jacob Skov Olesen, who was joint leader after the opening round at Royal Portrush last year.

Luke Poulter, one of the world’s leading amateur players and the son of Ryder Cup legend Ian Poulter, will be competing for one of the five qualifying places on offer at Royal Cinque Ports.
The pair teed it up together last year but ultimately fell short of securing spots at Royal Portrush.
Branden Grace, who made history the last time he appeared at Royal Birkdale, will also be on the Kent coast as he looks to book a memorable return. The South African’s remarkable 62 at Southport in 2017 remains the lowest round ever recorded at The Open.
Matthew Southgate, who finished tied sixth that same year, is also in the field at Royal Cinque Ports, alongside Thriston Lawrence, two years on from his fourth-place finish at Royal Troon.
Other notable names include Zane Scotland, who competed in The Open as a 16-year-old in 1999, and Thomas Detry, a PGA TOUR winner last year.
