For Stone it was his third Tour victory but first outside his home country.
In 2016 he won the BMW South African Open by two and then stormed to a seven-stroke success at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
By topping the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit, the former University of Texas player earned himself a return to The Open, having made his debut at Royal Troon in 2016. Also competed at the Olympics that year, partnering Jaco van Zyl.
