Winner of June’s European Amateur Championship in France with a 20-under par score of 264, which was only one stroke outside the tournament record set by Sweden’s Carl Pettersson in 2000.

He joins a list of champions that also includes Ryder Cup quartet Stephen Gallacher, Sergio Garcia, Rory McIlroy and Victor Dubuisson.

Bring was the 2015 Danish boys champion and the same season represented Continental Europe against Great Britain and Ireland at Royal Dornoch. His teammates in that 12 ½-12 ½ tie included Norwegian Viktor Hovland and Italian Guido Migliozzi, who will both also be at Royal St George’s after making their mark in the professional game already.

The winner of last year’s Danish amateur match play championship, Bring attended the University of Texas, majoring in communication and leadership.

Before leaving he said: “I miss Denmark and Europe a little bit and want to go back and see what happens. I’ve always wanted to be in the top 10 in the world – that’s the ultimate goal.”
